TV SHOW GUEST. 12.21.2013. PREVENTING SPIRITUAL BANKRUPTCY. Kevyn Burn ,BSN,RN is a life-long Virginian who lives now in Staunton, VA. She has been a health and human service professional for 36 years. Her career focus has been on program management, and assisting people with mental health and brain disorders, particularly seniors, the poor, and other marginalized people. In administrative roles, her leadership provided creative and heart-felt programs. As an example, also a dancer and performer for 20 years, she utilized dance, theater and other creative arts to transform a day program for differently abled adults. Currently she is a nurse for adolescent males in a residential treatment facility, offering love and Light to boys with conduct, mental health, and intellectual disorders. In this work setting, is the challenge of introducing virtues and healthy community living skills as a means to uplifting the population. As a compassionate clown she traveled internationally and locally, bringing love and fun to people in hospitals, schools, slums, and streets. Throughout her career she has studied holistic care, and many spiritual and religious paths. In the Spring she will complete the path to becoming a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, and start a practice. With a love of worship and celebration of all kinds, she participates in ceremony of many forms, and continues contemplative spiritual study. She chose to become an Episcopalian in 1989 and was a lay leader until becoming a member of the Baha’i’ Faith in 1999. As a Baha’i’, she has served on Local Spiritual Assemblies, organized inter-faith peace devotionals, hosted services, and traveled Europe in the Voices of Baha, an international Baha’i’ choir. She is also a 20-year member of the Al Hamilton Community Choir, an African-American gospel choir.
